Due to the leap in energy prices at the start of this month (triggered by a dramatic increase in the cost of wholesale energy), many people are now starting to feel the impact of the energy crisis. While we’re big believers in regularly comparing suppliers to see if there’s a cheaper option out there, the energy crisis has put a halt on switching and saving. With homes across the country seeing bills skyrocket and smaller energy companies collapsing, there are currently no great deals to be had.
Higher energy rates due to supply issues are affecting the ability of homeowners to save money through switching companies or tariffs. These aren’t normal times, and you’re unlikely to find a cheap deal when shopping around.
Due to these unprecedented market conditions we’ve taken the difficult decision to temporarily stop offering our energy switching service through Priorities.
We do not recommend switching suppliers at this time. This is because wholesale prices have skyrocketed, prompting Ofgem to announce a 12% increase to the level of its standard variable tariff energy price cap. As a result, suppliers have increased their standard variable prices, spiking to an annual cost of £1,277 for the average consumer.
But fear not; we’re constantly working with suppliers to bring you energy deals as soon as they’re available. We welcome you to check back regularly to see the latest deals once the situation has been resolved.
For now, please continue to enjoy comparing deals and finding savings on your home insurance, life insurance, broadband and TV services on Priorities, your personal price comparison tool.
